Boosting Your Hydration With Food

Our bodies are made up of 60% water so it’s no wonder water is the universal drink- it keeps us healthy and hydrated. A minimum of eight cups a day is the standard but who keeps track? Society is fast-paced and time consuming so it’s hard to keep up with the basic necessity in life and it’s no wonder a majority of us are feeling dehydrated and sluggish most of the time.

Dehydration accounts for most of our tiredness. When you feel thirsty, you’ve already lost 1-2% of your body fluid which can make you feel lethargic. It also lowers blood volume which means the heart has to pump harder in order for blood to reach your blood and the rest of the body.

Now we know how precious and significant water is, let’s try not to forget to water our bodies. Just like plants need water and sunlight to grow, we also need water and the proper nutrition to stay healthy and strong.

Since I for one find snacking to be more fun sometimes, I’m really interested in which fruits and vegetables do double duty in giving our bodies major doses of nutrition and hydration.

Besides intaking H2O, there are certain types of food to keep in mind when you’re at the grocery store. To spice things up a bit, we compiled a list of all the best hydrating foods to snack on when you’re winding down from an exhausting day of work. So keep scrolling for the top 10 best hydrating food.
